Red Nova OTK

So.. I was looking for an unusual Dragon Deck which had One Dragon card as its main priority.

I stumbled across a Red Nova Deck and thought i would tweak it a little bit here and there. However i do feel like this deck does need some advice, it is no where near Competitive Standard. It is a consistant OTK deck but also often stumbles across Dead Draws which are unavoidable in the worst situations.

I run 0 Traps in this deck, maybe this is my weakness, i dont know i still need to test this on human minds not CPU.
So far it has a high win rate but does get dead draws, this needs fixing...

Note: The Deck has been split into different sections because they are different Strategies and tactics of the deck.

If you have no trap cards then you can pop in a treacherous trap hole. Or a treeborn frog. :p Well, I don't play competitively. So...up to you :p

They're Not needed if you get a decent hand. I'll think about what cards to change in the future :')

No traps is a huge weakness, they are very important. :O

Protection, so you don't die before you win.

Limited trap cards like the Solems and Mirror Force are good for everything, and are very powerfull.

If you know how this works Red Nova will be 12000 in usually turn 2-4 i really see no point in running traps.
OBVIOUSLY Traps are needed in every deck, just not this uber beatstick.

There is no reason that traps shouldn't run in this deck, stopping an opponents Six Samurai Shi En. or a major syncro, is always a must.
It would simply make this deck better, and more likely to win.
Just because it's an OTK, doesn't mean that it doesn't need traps.
It might not have to run a heavy backrow, but the staple traps would improve the decks performance.

No, i've already explained if i get Nova out theres no way even Six Samurai's can withstand its atk, Trap cards are your line of defence, i do not need defence, i need full on atk power.

You're speaking like Jack Atlas lol.... you should learn to protect yourself more, because just like you have broken strategy if you opponent pull out there's you won't be able to fight it off

I know, im one for having 20 monsters 10 magic and 10 traps in 90% of my decks, but seriously this thing doesnt need defence ;D and hey dont compare to the the 'Ex-King' ;D haa!

Meh, I understand what your saying, but right now in the current META, the duel can be over in 2-4 turns, and traps is one of the only ways to stop your opponent from swarming the field.

And Shi En can stop your spell and traps, hurting your deck, alot. xP
And he can be summoned on turn one, before your dragon comes into play.

Can you see any adjustments then because seriously i cant D:

You should have more spells than traps, Traps should always be 8 or minimum and spells should always be 11 or maximum... and monsters can be anything between 17 to 23 depends on the decks stats but having 10 spells and 10 traps...20 monsters, you remind me back on my days when yugioh first started and people were learning the basics of the game.

Yeah, that basicaly sums it up.

Spells help the performance of the deck, traps provide the defense, and monsters are the offense.

10 10 20 to me is something i like to roll with, 9/10 it works too, i'll post up the Dragunity Deck and see how that differs from this.

Meh, it's a decent guidline, simple to follow.
Though every deck is different, and it might not work well with all of them.

For instance when i used to run a Armed Dragon Deck i had 22 Monsters 10 Spells and 8 Traps, that worked wonders. I suppose the guideline if when i experiment on a deck i have no idea about like i tried a junk deck once so i went from having 20 monsters to 23 11 spells 7 traps, if that gives you an idea on how i work.

Yeah, it all depends on the deck, and your preferences.

This deck needs a few traps like Mirror Force, Solemns, Bottomless, to name a few. I tried it out a few times but couldnt bring out Nova.

Yeah, the staple traps.
Bottomless is not needed so much anymore though since Solemn Warning came out, so it isn't necasarily a must in this deck.
