Banner Sites Modifier

Anyone knows a site where u can make banners?

I really need to know these stuffs, and I really don't like complicated stuffs lol. Like Photoshops or something like that will give me a brain dead. Maybe an easy builder banner tutorial on it might help too since I'm a starter at these things.

Plz someone help me out, I need banners 88 x 33 for site affiliation for 3 sites. And the site needs a new banner because the one that's using right now is not lengthened right. And I would like to make some pics of my own for all sorts, so if anyone knows how to make a banner from photoshop post the tutorial below. I'll ask questions about it if I'm confused.

Or you can show me an easy made banner site server, so I could tweak around a little and figured out on how to.

Plz I'm in desperate needs of help and i got 3 bored days ahead lol.

You know Greto, an active member once shows me that through a link from www.yugiohmovies.co.nr as if he knows I wasn't able to make banners lol.

Also I realize without trial pay of $25 yearly you can't have your own chosen Width and Length and their site name remains on the banner. Which is really bad in my case lol.

I remember when I first wanted to make vids with a program and I didn't know how to. I went through hell before figuring out it was Window Movie Maker for easier and fastest. Some people told me it's sonic5 or something to use. Others told me to try Photobucket, and they kept on coming with many ideas that just drive me nuts. And also I didn't know lots of option not until I had a Tag Video that was 32 min long and would have taken over 4 vids. That explain why the WC 08 Walkthrough is so long with over 100 vids. Lol, making the WC 05 walkthrough was a test of what I learn from vid makers and it wasn't any less than 53 vids.

Meaning I could stay here and ask, ask, and ask, and everyone will tell me something different and I will try, try, and try. But if I went looking for it myself I could get it badabing badaboom.

I'm going to look around the net for all sorts, and I'm going to bore myself days to learn how to teak around my CS2 program. My brother also use something called GIMP as I notice it's way better than the some banner program. Eventually I'll find something like GIMP and can be as professional as Photoshop.

If you still want to learn how to use Photoshop, these tutorials are related to Photoshop 7 and below...but newer versions are almost exactly the same (with supposedly more convenient features)

I think this place teaches you the basics. Once you know the basics, creating a banner should be straight forward (as you just decide on a size, move images, do minor effects, add text, and put them together).

Then after that you can learn other stuff that's on that site. It's the "easiest" place I can find/think of. I think after you learn the basics from there, you can just "google" whatever you'd like to do in Photoshop, as most tutorials will require that basic knowledge.

OK, I really needed that boost storm ^_^

But thank god I stick to hardly working. Meaning I knew from the start people will come up with ideas and tons of them while the simple thing is to use GIMP.

It's like Window Movie Maker (for free) compare to Sonic5 (for pay features) which has more features.

Gimp is compared to photoshop, and I learn from my brother that he actually uses both. I was stunned, and finally went on downloading it and take a youtube short tour.

That's the main reason I wanted to learn this because I needed small buttons for affiliation webs partnerships of my other sites. Ha!! I'm never doing graphic again >_>

just a few asthetic pointers to make your banner stand out more:

- Try to minimize the amount of text you're using (abbreviate when possible)

- Align your text to a corner, or completely center it.

- In a picture with a FACE on it, it's best to avoid covering it. The face acts as a powerful focus for any picture, and by covering it, you will rid yourself of a focus, and the eye will not be drawn to the banner/image.

- Create a 1 or 2 px border.
(Photoshop: double-click the layer your image is on, and check the "stroke" box. Change the color to black, change the size to 1 px, and make sure the border is either "inside" or "center")



I really recommend just playing around with Photoshop. You'll stumble upon some awesome new effects and naturally incorporate it into your future works.


Note: Just realized you said you DON'T use photoshop.. But most of these comments should apply for any image editor. Don't give up! You'll learn to make some really cool gfx. It just takes patience and a lot of practice.

Thanks for the compliments Sedicius, I've edited the topic on legal site links and videos I've found about them. Apparently gimp, is another photoshop lol, and to tell, now I got both GIMP and CS3. But first let me see, how I do leaning gimp. The links were posted above if incase someone like me is looking for help. Once I'm a pro at GIMP, I'll even post tutorials about it on youtube or something...
