How come you read Manga and watch Anime?

This is my story. ^^

My first experience with Anime was Sailor Moon who went on TV when I was like 4-5. I didn't really watch Sailor Moon. But little later another Anime series started on TV who blew my mind inside out! It was Pokémon! I think it's unnecessary to tell you how much I druged this show since every body knows how big Pokémon was. But this was long before I knew what Manga and Anime was.

Later when I started school my real first experience with Manga and Anime started.
One day some 3rd graders was reading a strange comic book I have never seen before. Curios as I was I asked “what are you reading?” they told me “beat it, this is Dragonball and it's not for kids!”.
Lol, when you are 6-7, 3rd grader looks like grown ups! xD But of course that only got me more curios and one day when I went to a book shop I saw that weird comic book called Dragonball. After that I became a Dragonball nerd. =)
After Dragonball came Yu-Gi-Oh! Which started on Swedish TV and little later was sold as Manga pockets. And then One Piece Manga. And after this it kept on rolling, I brought pretty much every Manga series I could (which weren't many).
But my real Otaku nerdiness started when I got my own computer with internet connection :DDD

Now tell me your story, it don't need to be long like mine. ^_^

I got an order form for SJ back in 2002 in a Yugioh vid.

I actually got into anime and manga by watching this show X showed me. I think it was "Black Lagoon"? It was a really great show that got me wanting even more action from each episode afterwards. When I went home, I watched all the remaining episodes and when I went over there next time I spoiled each and every episode for him there after.

okay so mine went like this:
When i was like 5, i started watching Pokemon. I didn't like it that much. In fact, I was in love
with the Power Rangers back then. Anyway, I looked for something else and found Digimon
which appealed to me more. So from there I got addicted to Digimon. Then my friends started
talking about Naruto, so i went there. It was when I hit 10 when the hormones took over. I
started watching those mindless ecchi animes. Upon reaching 12, I sort of matured and it became
more of a matter of story rather than ecchi. Then, I got tired of waiting for the internet vids to
load so I started reading manga.

that's basically it. ^_^

o.o hm... it started from Sailor Moon and Pokemon XD I'm not sure when but then I started watching anime.. then manga ;D

I like the anime because.. o_o of the songs LOL... and manga because its more accurate and.. stuff.

Lets see.. o_o Hmm.. And more manga because there are more shoujo ^-^ to read.


o_o sometimes I watch/read ecchi XD tho not a lot because.. yeah.

I used to hate Yaoi o_o then I started liking it.. RikuXSora ftw

well yeah. i started watching ecchi stuff at 10.
i guess it attributes to my being more mature than others. ^_^'
also at least i lasted until 10. my friends started watching hardcore stuff at 8 O_O

I don't think ecchi is perverted (neither moe) if are under 18. Lolicon on the other hand is really perverted. O_o

Lolicon is just wrong. There's nothing wrong with ecchi.

Not really. Little kids enjoy it because fart jokes, and all those "privy" things tend to be funny before hormones take over. When you get older, you understand perversion and all that "adult theme" stuff. Remember little kids swearing and calling each other names, and laughing at private or those jokes? I guess we have to think back on how kids acted when we were in elementary.

Now with ecchi and all that stuff, the young-uns (under 10) really just think it's funny when people's underwear are flashed, and when people are "naked", as seen in cartoons anyway like Looney Tunes.

Fart jokes have nothing with ecchi to do... =/
But anyway not to get to out of topic.

Well some what if we are talking about ecchi lolicon, then I am really diturbed.
I mean it's ecchi with 5 year old girls. I know it's drawn but still...

I read manga and watch anime.
It's entertaining, and that's reason enough for me.

I grew up surrounded by anime and manga.
Doraemon and Voltron are the first TV shows I've ever seen and I barely even remember it.
Detective Conan is the first book I've ever read.
My previous answer stays.

Though if we're talking about the REALIZATION of "anime",
I probably didn't know what the genre "anime" really stood for until I watched Kidou Senshi Gundam..

voltron! that was a good but i didn't like the 3d one that much

Hmmm.... Mine started out with Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball Z, and Pokemon.

I wasn't into anime that time, and I wasn't much of a person who watched cartoons either. Then, I got a little older and Digimon came up. It was... well, FREAKIN' AWESOME and the Pokemon series got better so thats when I got hooked into TCG and into an Anime Lover.
Next came Beyblade,Crush Gear, YUGIOH ,Zoids, Gundam etc...

So it just became a trend for me.

Then last year I became classmates with web. Thats when i got hooked into manga.

I still like watching better though. Less of a hassle.
