Why don't you people take some initiative and at least try if you even have the slightest notion of wanting to do it?
If yours doesn't get chosen, you can compare it to the one that did and see where you could have made improvements.
If yours did get chosen, good for you.

Blue RAmarl from Phantasy star is the absolute first thing I thought of when I saw that siggy.

It looks great.
Although the character in question is looking into the void, with her guns also pointed towards the void, the stuff behind said character keeps your attention focused around her and not particularly wondering what she's staring/shooting at.

So I just started makeing sig.s. This is my first one.

It's cool Zeke! Only one I think you should add is some kind of border.
It's an veary easy way do make your pics look better.
