Roleplay Haven Rules and Regulations

These are the rules of The Roleplay Haven Forum, as written by Shiko and Webmaster, and approved by Shiki. Failure to abide by these rules will result in deletion of your post/thread and possibly other consequences, depending on the severity of the violation.

> Be respectful. Do not insult, flame, or just plain offend anyone. If you use symbols to bypass the censored words, you will be warned.

> Stay on topic. This rule speaks for itself. Stay on topic as much as possible.

> Do not spam. Spamming means using the same words over and over again. It is also unrelated to the topic/post or it's just plain nonsense.

> Don't recreate topics or double post. This includes making multiple topics, too. No one likes to read the same topics that were already made. Though it may be forgiven if an old topic gets very old, and no one remembers it exists. When replying to a topic, just hit the reply button once to avoid it being posted twice.

> Do not impersonate Admins, Mods, or any other member. This is disrespectful to that particular person if you do so even if you mean to fool the members. There will be strict penalties if broken.

> Do not create multiple accounts for mischief. If multiple accounts are detected, Admins can easily find out who you are. If you create one to "break" certain rules or to avoid scarring your main account's reputation, both accounts will be secured by the appointed staff for deciding the outcome of the accounts, with possible deletion.
If you've been active and you want to change your name, you can easily PM the admins to change it if you have a good reason.

> Do not use inappropriate or huge images. This includes images in your avatar, signature and images in a post. Don't use wallpaper-sized images. Signatures shouldn't be too large, even with text. If it gets too big, you will be warned.

> Do not link to inappropriate websites. You are allowed to post links in your profile or your signature, or if it's really needed to explain something you've posted. Don't link to dangerous sites. Also, do not advertise. The only links that KWC accept is youtube, and blogspot links. Other links will be verified when posted.

> Do not repost copyrighted material or topics. Don't copy someone else's post from another site. Most likely it'll be their own Walkthrough that they worked hard on.

> Do not share illegal content. These include ISOs, BIOS files, serials, hacked software or links related to illegal content

> Any sort of disruption to the community will result in disciplinary action. Do not disrupt the community in any way. Penalties here may result in a lifetime ban, depending on your actions. Ban Times depend on the judgement from an Admin or Mod.

The following are the rules for this specific forum, Roleplay Haven:

> No Godmodding. This means no killing off other players' characters without previous arrangements between both players and the RP creator, assuming other players' characters' actions without previous arrangements between both players and the RP creator, and no being invincible to every- and anything always. In simple terms: Make your character(s) realistic. Everyone has faults and flaws. -EVERYONE-.

> Keep out-of-character (OOC) conversations to a minimum. Most RPs will have an associated thread for OOC conversations. This is used for clarification on a player's post, discussion of how the plot should continue, etc.

> No cybering. This means any kind of roleplaying of sexual nature. It's okay if romance gets involved in an RP, but NO SEXUAL SITUATIONS.

The following is not so much a rule as it is a guideline:

> At least attempt to be some sort of literate[/u]. Literacy levels may vary from roleplay (RP) to roleplay, depending on the RP creator. However, it is typically easier for all players if everyone refrains from txt tlk (text talk, meaning 1337 and what-have-you), and TRIES to use punctuation. Remember: Vowels, consonants, and punctuation are your friends. Don't neglect them, but don't abuse them, either! I, myself, am a bit of a stickler for grammar, but I'll try not to be so strict here.

This guideline also includes the discouragement of one-liner posts and posts that use asterisks ( * ) for actions. Be descriptive in your posts! Describe the setting, the thoughts your character might have (thoughts can be noted by italicizing and using an apostrophe ( ' ) before and after the thought), feelings they may have at the time. The more descriptive you are, the more your fellow players will have to reply to, which, in turn, will give you more to reply to!
