Judging from appearance and body gesture and and his quotes "if", I don't even think that these cards are his. He said that he got them from ebay, so he must have bought them for his son nonetheless.

Beside he suffered too many dark age of WW back on his times, and have seen worst, and now I guess he can enjoy these card games. Also I think he's only into the game because of his son and he's probably playing some other card games because he doesn't look too focus when he's showing the cards and the information goes as vaguely as he spoke.

I also think the way he treasured these cards, he used to be a baseball collector (I think the person who's filming it asked a question as similar as "Is that like baseball cards or something?") back in the 80s that was what's popping, but now it's WOW, Yugioh and Marvel cards.

i say good on him for trying the yugioh game out because the game is very hard for the old people to understand and i hope he has heaps of fun playing the game

Well, if you guys check his profile, you'll see that he's not THAT old.. He's about to turn 60 but he's not there yet.
Also, he's into a lot of fantasy stuff,
so he doesn't necessarily have to play just because of his grandson/granddaughter or anything like that.

That was very old "I got a battery man. That must be good, you need batteries for cars and stuff." I Lol'ed at that
