Best Deck types in 09?

In my opinion it's Rescue Cat Syncrho or LightSworn, even though Lightsworn is kinda lucky IMHO.

Apparently it looks like I'll be the only one that says Volcanics.

I'm not seeing Tele-Monk lol. That's top 1 in my list. The Top 2 is Rescue Synchro. Lightsworn and Glads got too fame that there are lots of Anti-Meta decks made specifically for them.

There's aren't Racoon City lol, nor Big City. Little city is a deck made with Honest counterback, involved with mostly light monster with E-H in their names with the field spell that boost them up by 1000. Sometimes players either uses Skill Drain or Royal Oppression which is why it's an anti-meta deck because it either stops effects or stops special summons.

Anti Meta decks are

Hopelessfull Dragon
Little City
Gadget Oppression
STUN
Dark Skill Drain

Also note majority decks runs Allure of Darkness has a DAD in there. In fact I have 4 top decks and all of them has a DAD so dad no longer consider as a deck but a staple card to add in decks that consists at least 9 dark monsters.

Decks are built with three variety types. Speed, Control, and Power.

Speed (40 decks with draw engine)
Control (each cards counts example would be my past "Short Work" decl or my undefeated gadgets. Also most anti-meta decks are about control and they are ready to counter any thing)
Power(is not stall but you can dealt 4000 damage in a turn or sometimes OTK decks are categorized as that)

Sorry my friend but I would like to disagree. Even back then no one used to use tributes. If a player runs BEWD deck they will likely special summon three in a turn as OTK.

Man, I wish I had my Wc 2006 back from the year of 2006 and had not sold it back then. Just as now I had lot of powerful decks in there. Still the meta styles. Ratbox was one famous anti-meta that was popular but now loses its fame since synchro summon arrived to the TCG.

just about every old player in my town including me had duelist of the rose at that time

machanical chaser was also a good card at that time too
