The demo of FF13. All I can say is wow. The battle system is epic. Full of win. What more can I say? A lot more but I'll answer any questions you have.

can you control other party members? or is it gambits?

The battle system isn't like FF12 at all. It looks like you can't control your party members in the demo and there is no gambits as well.
