Dialga or Palkia?

Which one would you rather have in your team and why?

i voted for Dialga because Dialga is a Dragon-Steel type. Being Dragon is able to knock down Shirona (Cynthia's) Garchomp and not take damage from Roserade sludge bomb attack for being part steel type. It is true ground-type moves are effective against Dialga but hey poision-type moves such as SludgeBomb wont hurt it. I do perfer some Pokemon who wont get hurt from type attack then something that will.

Palkia is alright against Bertha if your having trouble against her ground-type Pokemon. Very useful. I do use Palkia alot against Bertha to flood her team with Surf and drown them underwater and same with Flint. Hope it helps you D.

Dialga looks cooler. That is the only reason I need.

lol teh first time i saw those 2 pokemons this was teh exact same reason i had XD.
andi just think dialga is more powerfull than palkia maybe even more powerfull than giratina but it being steel type was a huge problem in my pokemon diamond because my team back then was Infernape Torterra Empoleon Lucario Dialga Staraptor/Luxray
yep more than half my team would be owned by ground moves

my reason is the same as most people, because it looks cooler then the other one...

Dialga just looks better...Palkia is pink and chubby...

ok but lets say if palkia would do spacial rend on dialga dialga woulndt faint but if dialga would do roar of time its an instant KO for palkia

Offensively, Palkia is definitely the better choice, mainly due to its higher Speed, but also because of Spacial Rend and its STAB Water attacks. With lower Speed, no Spacial Rend, and only a Steel type as its second STAB, Dialga pales in comparison offensively.

Defensively, its merely a matter of opinion.

Dialga has higher base HP and base Defense than Palkia. He also has quite a number of useful resistances (Dark, Normal, Flying, Psychic, Rock, Grass, and Steel) compared to Palkia, including an immunity to Toxic, which is always nice. Unfortunately, all of these resistances come at the price of giving Dialga a weakness to Fighting and a weakness to Ground.

Palkia, compared to Dialga, has a lower base HP stat and a lower base Defense stat, but has a higher base SP.Defense stat. Palkia's Water/Dragon typing leaves it with only one weakness(Dragon), compared to Dialga's 2 weaknesses(Fighting, Ground). Of course, this comes at the cost of not having all of the useful resistances that Dialga's Steel type gives it.

In my opinion, I'd say Dialga wins defensively because of its higher HP and its wide number of resistances, despite having more weaknesses than Palkia.

Overall, how good they are depends on what style you play them as. If you want to play defensively, play Dialga. If you want to play offensively play Palkia.

despite dialga only really getting a super effective hit from fighting or ground attacks. I have to go with palkia due it works well with kyogre plus it faster.

I;m in more favor of Dialga. (Steel type!)

usually i prefer palkia, but now i prefer dialga because its part steel type and it doesnt take to much damage frm palkias water moves (dragon moves though, kill)

Yeah, same as it does to palkia. So no diff. Dragon is their main weakness. But, Dialga is over-all stronger in terms of HP and Defense.

i rather palkia

but definitely like Palkia

I prefer palkia only because of spacial rend.
